Survivor Spotlight – Xena Morgan

Xena was diagnosed with SLE Lupus in 1995 at the age of 12 but remembers having symptoms as early as age 8 (in the third grade). She is now a 35 years young lupus warrior.

“I have experienced joint pain, hair loss, butterfly rash, bullous lesions (fluid filled blisters) from the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet, oral ulcers, skin tears, extreme exhaustion, kidney, heart, and lung complications. Over the years, I have been on many medications and treatment protocols to include chemotherapy. I have found that a plant-based lifestyle, gut health and removing toxins from my daily routines have made the most difference in decreasing/preventing disease activity for me. “

Lupus Fact:Dietary and lifestyle changes are usually a part of the treatment plan when it comes to alleviating lupus flare ups.
