Survivor Spotlight – Christina Spruill

Christina was diagnosed with SLE Lupus in 2013 at the age of 37. She is currently a 42 years young lupus warrior.

“My mother passed away from kidney failure due to lupus when I was 9 years old, through everything I count it all joy. Proverbs 15:30 reads ‘A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health’. I’m grateful to have a support group of sisters and brothers who encourage me when days get too tough.”

Lupus Fact:The risk of developing SLE is, at least in part, genetic, but it is a complex genetic illness with no clear Mendelian pattern of inheritance. The disease tends to occur in families.
