Juan Vines is a Tech Lead for Target where he has been employed for 13 years. He is a father of a bright teenage son, Brandon, who brings him so much joy. Juan has been a strong advocate for lupus awareness for over 17 years since his cousin, Chastity Corbett was diagnosed. He volunteered his time and skills to Co-Chair lupus walks in both Hampton Roads and Richmond beginning in 2014. Juan is passionate about awareness for both lupus and fibromyalgia because he has seen the effects these illnesses have on survivors and their families. Juan has type 1 diabetes, but he does not allow his health challenges to deter him from helping others. If anything, it encourages him to do more for diabetes, lupus, fibromyalgia, prostate cancer, and Alzheimer’s communities. These illnesses are near and dear to him because many family members are affected. Juan encourages everyone to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We are stronger together.
