Karen Reid is currently employed by Northampton County Public Schools located on the
Eastern Shore of Virginia where she proudly serves in a dual role as Executive Assistant to the
Superintendent of Schools and School Board Clerk.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as a Master of Arts in Bible
and Theology with High Distinction.

Karen’s greatest skill set has been to serve others. Her biggest aspiration in life is to live by
standards that glorify God as she strives to exemplify the characteristics of Christ.

Her greatest gifts are her three children and two grandsons.

Karen was diagnosed with SLE lupus in 2017 after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis, which
was later found to be a result of lupus. Karen sought to invest more time learning to live with
lupus. After several years in remission, Karen has decided to share her success in staying
healthy with others who may be struggling. After becoming a member of the Social Butterflies
Foundation, Karen found her purpose and enjoys encouraging people everywhere she goes by
sharing the miracles God continues to work in her life.
