We are working with a local State Delegate to establish official awareness license plates for the state of Virginia, bringing visibility to lupus and fibromyalgia across our communities.
Featuring the purple awareness ribbon, these specialty plates help make invisible illness visible while supporting programs that serve those living with lupus and fibromyalgia.
- Lupus Plate Goal: The state requires 450 Lupus Awareness Plate pre-orders before the plate can become a reality.
- Your Impact: Once approved, the state will donate $15 from every plate purchased through the DMV.

Visit the link below to submit your pre-order. Select “personalized plate” if you are transferring an existing plate or requesting a custom plate.

- Lupus personalized or transferred plates are $10

- Fibromyalgia personalized plates are $35
Complete DMV Registration Form
After submitting your order, you will receive an email with the official DMV registration form. You can complete and email it back or mail it to:

Pre-Orders Submitted to the State
Once we reach 450 pre-orders, a bill is presented to the Virginia General Assembly, the Governor signs off on the plate, and all pre-orders are submitted to the DMV for processing.
Receive Your Plate
Once approved and processed, the DMV will mail your official Lupus Awareness license plate directly to you.
